Bus rollover injures about 30 people

(AP) ? The general manager of a Canadian motorcoach travel company says about 30 people have been injured after a bus rolled over on a highway near Edmonton, Alberta.

Red Arrow general manager John Stepovy said Friday that the vehicle was an overflow bus on a regularly scheduled run from Fort McMurray, Alberta to Edmonton. He says all 36 seats on the bus were full.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police Sgt. Patrick Webb says some people were trapped in the bus, which rolled on a highway near Redwater, about 40 miles (65 kilometers) northeast of Edmonton.

Alberta Health spokeswoman Kerry Williamson says most of the injuries were minor, but several were serious.

It was sunny and dry Friday afternoon. Police have not yet determined the cause of the rollover.
